on June 17, 2008 01:33amokay so lets take a trip down memory lane. 2006 they were 60-22. made it to the NBA finals and went up 2-0 against the heat. then lost 4 straight by losing the nba finals 2-4 2007 - best record in the NBA 1st seed 67-15. (top 5 records in the HISTORY) of the NBA! lost to golden state warriors in the first round (BIGGEST UPSET IN NBA HISTORY OF PLAYOFFS) 2008 - they were 7th seed 51-31, but were only 5 games behind from 1st place , since 1-8 was so close this year in the west. but it was a shaky year for them especially since getting JASON KIDD. then they lose 1st round to the new orleans hornets. NOW, avery johnson fired, rick carlisle is the new coach for 2009 What do the mavericks need to do to get BACK TO THE FINALS? is it over for them? was it just a dream come true? was it like a one time thing to tease me?? or are they contenders? contendors or pretendors???

on June 17, 2008 01:41am ME!!!! im not a typical LAKERS fan just like the most of the persians who dont even know what NBA is just cause its L.A. they automatically jump on the bandwagon. naaaaa.. dallas mavericks is my team homie. so are the chicago bulls. but the mavericks are too good to not be in the mix.

on August 25, 2008 02:12am they had a good run in 2006. they were so close to winning it all man, but i think they gave up. and in 2007 was just a big shock to see what happend. the mavs made history (in the worse way) lol... i mean the west is so strong now. it should be interesting to see what happend.. 1. Michael Jordan became a legend thanks to his amazing team and the rest of the competition.
2. There is excitement in the league but if you focus on what sportscenter tells you, then you are screwed cause they'll keep shoving lebron down your throat. 3. the problem with the mavs is a couple things. mentally they are extremely weak, their superstars are not big shot players, basically, they are good but not superstars. get rid of stackhouse and a couple of the other players and get younger guys who can run a lil. The trade for KIdd was a terrible trade, i'm not saying this now i said it when it happened. So now that you have him, get younger guys who can run, cause kidd will hook up with em for some easy baskets. 4. rick the new coach is a great coach, their problem is they have to get used to it and they are in the west which means, they are butt rapeed. |

iraniebahal, didnt know you watched the nba, but looks like you do cuz you know your stuff! but you were kind of wrong about one thing, dirk nowitzki is a superstar(2007 MVP) ...and the problem with dallas this year, and for the past 3 years is they play good the 1st 3 quarters, the games they lose it's always in the 4th, cuz dirk nowitzki is a CHOKE artist. and he can't handle the pressure anymore to be "that guy" to close out games. who goes up 2-0, almost 3-0 in the FINALS, an loses 4 straight?? and i think after GSW beat them in the 1st round the year later(biggest upset in nba history), the whole league knows dirk nowitzki's weakness....
yeah stackhouse needs to go he is some garbage, but i tell you they can beat any team in the league if they want , they have enough weapons...but obviously everyone jumps on the lakers bandwagon... [This post was modified]

Well i think dirk is a great player but i wouldn't go as far as superstar because of that same reason, he can't perform under pressure, much like most stars in the league, The league tries to force stars down our throats but we all know stars are not created. the problem is that their talent is decent, but they are not deep and again they don't have anyone capable of taking over in pressure time and their bench is weak. I've been a laker fan since i watched the NBA and ya there is no question there are a lot of people that pick em just cause they are now good or they are from LA, same as all the shitty boston from last season who came out of nowhere.
basically, i don't think they'll have a chance with their team right now, they'll make the playoffs but they'll be kicked out very soon, but a few years down the line, when they get over the fact that they lost draft picks, they'll start improving. Keep in mind that many dominant teams in the west and east are now getting too old. A couple rebuilding years isn't that bad. |

your boys are off to a bad start (you know im speaking the truth and not hatin'), but mine havent been too much better either. I'm pretty excited because we beat the warriors tonight, HA! Anyways, Dirk does choke too much, but then again, we all know poor poor T-mac hasnt gotten his chunk of the ball because of our boys.
It's a whole new season though. We have Artest, and my baby Rafer will, hopefully, not be out of games because of any injuries. Yao and Tmac need to keep their bodies pampered too. As for your boys, lets hope they can step up their game. You guys beat the Rockets a few days ago, like always, but who knows what'll happen... hopefully we'll all make it to the playoffs, duhhh. =] and btw, Arash and Jina, Man ghorbooneh shoma RAFTAM- tamoom shod! MUAH MUAH MUAH. |
