Love in Iran vs. Love in America
by mpb on April 29, 2007 11:50am
who's with me when i say the love is real and you can feel it in Iran..? i mean the love from your family and friends.. you just know they love you and you feel it. I've been in America for like 10 years now.. i still feel little love. i've even been in love 3 times.. it all turned out to be a sham. Everything seems to be over money in the end.. even with close friends and even family a lot of times. What is the world coming to?

that's ridiculous! i'm so sorry. he must be the dumbest man alive. you're beautiful! ;) i've had situations like that too. Guys suck sometimes.. ok most of the time. vali khob dorost mige quote. that's one of my favorite quotes of all time. same with friends though.. we have a fight. Its over. They start hanging out with people we used to dislike and it's over and done. love/friendship means nothing to this culture.

i really know what you mean. i feel like in america people really dont have a sense of family either. you tell your friend or girlfriend or something that you have to do something involving your family, even as simple as eating dinner with your parents, or going out with them, they think like "what are you some kind of loser? why do you hang out with your parents??" or even loyalty, people around here are so damn quick to stab someone in the back. there are so many things like this that just put my panties in a bundle haha

yeah the loyalty thing is so friggin true. I just cant/dont trust anyone anymore. I just know what I tell them will get out sometime. The family thing.. depends I mean my friends are family oriented so they understand and do it themselves but overall you're so right. They're like what? "You're always with them. Just bail this time blah blah" One fight. And all 10 years go down the drain. Like I dont get it. I'm just sick and tired of trying to make these friendships work. I don't depend on any of them anymore. :? I'm so happy I'm going away this fall. So sick of these people.

i totally agree with all you guys.... sometimes i get so tired and frustrated about all this.. but hey you guys see the bright side not all the people think as we do here, sometimes it take a lot to even find one true friend who will stick to you no matter what, i know its hard to find the person these days who loves you and will do anything to make you happy, but we cant stop trying. right? patience is the key... maybe we will find out buddie here in this site ;) who knows... hehe but we dont lose hope, because we are persian...

I was born and raised in America without any other relatives, just my parents and 2 brothers. I noticed that with my friends' families they don't show each other love. They don't hug or kiss, show little respect to each other, etc. Even though my own family is loving, I still never really knew what having a loving family was until I visited Iran 3 summers ago...and I really felt the love there. There was so much family! Everyday (several times a day!) my relatives said they loved me and I was hugged and kissed and shown so much love. I really miss it. Such a great feeling :)

It’s not just love in Iran; it’s the way that Iranians express their love for each other. They are just so passionate about love and actually give each other values. In Iran unlike here love has not lost its meaning, you don’t go out with someone and then say you love them because you think its time, and if you don’t say it you might lose them. In Iran when you say you love someone it means something and it comes from the heart. I am not even gonna get into the family and the respect that kids have for their parents….

im not sure about the statistics, but i think America is like number one in domestic abuse. I just think people don't treat each other right anymore, they're all selfish.

I agree that the number one thing I enjoy about Iran is my family and the family bond. But I have to disagree that there is no love in America. There are good and bad people in every country. You just have to learn how to choose your friends wisely.
