on April 17, 2008 02:23pm What an arbitrary list of books, B. haha However, if I had to choose, for sentimental purposes, it has to be the Shahnameh. That books, in essence, is what revived "Persia" and Persian culture. If it were not for this book, we'd all be Arabs today, much like how the Phonecians (Lebanese), Egyptians, Syrians, etc became Arabs. |

on April 20, 2008 11:08am I have a really nicely illustrated English-translation of the Shahnameh. Altho i havent read much of it yet. The illustrations tho are all reprints of Shahnameh paintings from the Mongol-Illkhanate era, so i assume. Now what that means in slang is that everyone in the paintings basically looks like a "chink", or "gook", or however you wanna call it ;) But its still "Persian art" i guess...
Now i am allowed to say those words. I am, oh yes.
