well, there is not alot of diffrents, persian parents love their kids and love to be close with them, they get DEL SHOREH about their kids, american parents say (WELL HE IS 18), but 1 thing that they have in commen is girl,,both american and iranian parents get so sensetive if they have 15 to 18 year old daughter

Im PROUD to have been born into an Iranian family and honestly I mean it.

In the past I remember comparing my parents to other people's when I was at school. My parents would do anything for me, and now that they are older I will do anything for them because I appreciate the sacrifices they made.

well i dont really know if there is a diff

never had american parents lol

but one thing is for sure  persian families are a bit more close

they worry abt each other

they care and spend time together (at least mine does)

and usually persian parents put their kids before themselves

but one thing i have noticed is that persian parents are verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry

involved in their kids love life ( not necc. a bad thing)

specialy the guys oh my GOD

some of them actualy tell their kids who they should date if at all lol

but i do agree with donya and rakhsh :)

Welll when I compare my parents to my friends' American parents, I think Persian parents care a bit more. Or at least they show that they care more.

example:

My friend is allowed to come home at any hour, go anywhere, do as she pleases whereas I have strict rules. Basically if i'm out I have to call every hour (if I don't my mom will harass me with phone calls) and I have to be home at a reasonable hour... like by 8 haha

To my friends' parents, turning 18 years old means they can do anything they want because they are legal adults. Turning 18 to my parents means nothing, I am still not allowed to do anything lol.

Also, grades. My friends are thrilled if they make a B or a C but my parents (dad especially) expects nothing other than A's. High A's.

I think because our parents are  from Iran they have seen what life for other people is like and they appreciate it more. My dad didn't have the best life in Iran and he wants nothing more than for my brothers and I to be educated and successful.  If I told my dad I wanted to be a teacher (I don't, but i'm just saying) then he would get really pissed at me. The fields he respects are medicine, law, business, and engineering. That is it.

I don't mind it either. I love them and I know that they just want me to have the best possible life.
